All Hail Diplo
If there's one person in this world I can count on to bring the latest music from Brazil's favelas to my ears, it's this guy.

Those familiar with last year's M.I.A.'s Piracy Funds Terrorism bootleg, should know that it was her boyfriend (lucky devil), Diplo, who attached massive amounts of funk carioca to her already busy world sound.
As of late he's been moonlighting at parties all over South America like an ethnomusicologist, scrounging up whatever booty music he can get his hands on. With his label, Mad Decent, he's determined to make the genre a staple in American clubs and on indie-geek playlists. The site features new remixes of his first band, Bonde do Role, a preview of his ongoing documentary collaboration regarding Baile Funk, and a link to his outrageous podcasts, which stem from visits to Puerto Rico, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, and most recently New Orleans. This is the future kids.
