Chaos in Sao Paulo - "Quelled" for Now

Some serious violence erupted in Sao Paulo earlier this week. Cops vs. Inmates, Cops vs. Gangs, Cops vs. Cops, Cops and Gangs vs. Citizens. Even the Carrefour (Brazil's Target/Meijer equivalent) in my wife's hometown was shutdown, as well as hospitals and schools. The government claims it wasn't such a big deal and that everything is under control, but my relatives don't feel so safe.
