The Reason I'm So Strange

Pour a sip of battery acid on the curb, for Uwe Nettelbeck, co-founder of one of my most beloved bands, Faust, has passed on. If you're not familiar with their work, they are responsible for noise rock, prog rock, kraut rock and other sedimentary forms of experimental music. Julian Cope said it best when he proclaimed that "there is no band more mythical than Faust."

Though the group has trudged on into the new millenium, playing a handful of shows, and releasing new material, most notably in collaboration with Dalek, nothing can match the first time I heard Faust IV and this song. R.I.P.
